WHY FAST FASHION IS DEAD
I feel like saying fast fashion is dead is a bit extreme. I would say fast fashion isn't as widely accepted. Back around 2011, 2012 I feel like buying things from Zara and H&M was very acceptable. It was around that time that big name designers were doing collaborations with H&M. Remember in 2011 when Kanye wore a Versace H&M collaboration jacket to the Victoria's Secret fashion show? No one batted an eye. Largely because it was the trend to shop at fast fashion retailers. Since then people have moved towards brands and products with history and heritage. I believe this was partly to blame for the Fila Disruptor being named FNAA's shoe of the year in 2018. People moved away from fast fashion partly because the concept wasn't as new anymore. People like to move to new ways of consuming their goods or information and fast fashion now is just another way of consuming our goods, it's no longer the new kid on the block.
